Alcohol and substance misuse

The National Assembly for Wales have been looking into the effects of alcohol and substance misuse.

The Health and Social Care Committee recently did some work on new psychoactive substances which are sometimes called “legal highs”. The Committee wanted to build on that work, and so they looked into issues of alcohol and substance misuse

In the video clip below, David Rees AM, Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee, encourages members of the public to contribute to the inquiry on alcohol and substance misuse.

As part of their inquiry the Committee wanted to know about the effect that alcohol and substance misuse has on people in Wales, how well these issues are currently being tackled, and whether the right local services are in place across Wales to help people and make sure that they know about the possible harms.
