On behalf of the National Assembly for Wales’ Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), the Assembly has an exciting opportunity for 1 young person to represent Wales at the 8th Commonwealth Youth Parliament in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, on 6-10 November 2016.
If you will you be aged 18-29 by 4 November 2016, are a Welsh citizen or a Citizen of another Commonwealth Country living or studying in Wales, have an interest and understanding of the National Assembly for Wales, Welsh current/political affairs, the Commonwealth and International political affairs, enjoy meeting new people, and would like to experience aspects of Parliamentary Democracy, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!
The Commonwealth Youth Parliament (CYP) is an opportunity for young people from across the Commonwealth to experience aspects of Parliamentary Democracy and provides an opportunity to meet other young people interested in politics and social issues. Formal parliamentary practice, which has been adapted from several Commonwealth countries, will be followed during the days and will be observed under the watchful eyes of experienced parliamentary officials. It really is a great opportunity to experience first-hand what it would be like to be part of a political party.
Information about this opportunity and information about the application process can be found in the attached letter. You can also find a copy of the report from Alex Atkins who attended the 7th Commonwealth Youth Parliament in Darwin last year.
The application process for this opportunity has now closed. We would like to thank everyone for their interest and applications.
