New powers offered to the Assembly
A new law that will be discussed in the UK Parliament was laid on 07 June 2016.
It will reduce the number of areas in which Westminster currently control- for example ports, speed limits and local elections- and pass those powers to the Assembly.
Here is a summary of some of the new powers being offered to Wales:
Fracking, power projects up to 350MW
Speed limits, taxi licensing, harbour controls
Voting age, timings, size and name of the Assembly
We would like to hear your views about the above powers. Should the assembly be re named the Parliament for Wales? Please send us your views by commenting on this blog post or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
