Since the initial question the assembly voted unanimously to establish a youth parliament. In February 2017 Elin Jones AM and Ann Jones AM received a copy of the Campaign for Children and Young People’s Assembly for Wales (CYPAW) consultation report by Matt Walker (A Member of CYPAW) which recommends various actions the Assembly could take to establish a youth parliament.

Since this meeting Elin Jones AM released a written statement to outline the establishment of a new youth parliament advisory group involving young people. You can read the statement here.

The steering group met on the 13th of March to discuss potential issues and plan the foundation of the youth parliament.

The assembly will consult on these plans and a potential model for a youth parliament starting from May.
