Your Assembly Ambassador – Eleanor from Girlguiding Cymru

Hello, my name is Eleanor, and I am 14 and live in Faes Glas, north Wales. In February I went to Broneirion which is the GirlGuiding Cymru headquarters. I learnt about things like science, sports and medicine but I also learnt about the National Assembly for Wales.
On the fifteenth of June I went to my old primary school (Lixwm School) to teach a little bit about the Assembly to the children. Caryl came to help and things were provided by the Assembly to make this possible.

I started out quite nervous but after a while I became more confident. We played a game of agree or disagree to see what the children thought of politics and the Assembly. Many of the children didn’t like politics o’r just didn’t understand.

The session went really well and the children learnt a lot. We played a game of true or false and this was a lot of fun! We looked at the work of the Assembly and the difference between the National Assembly for Wales and Welsh Government. I spoke about the Senedd and the meeting that are held inside.

I finished by speaking about the 21 subjects that can be changed by the National Assembly for Wales and we played more games like finding the 21 subject symbols in the mural. The experience was great and I am very thankful, I think the experience has been amazing.

Thank you very much.
